Edmund M.-K. Lai (Life Senior Member, IEEE) received the B.E. (Hons.) and Ph.D. degrees from The University of Western Australia in 1982 and 1991, respectively, both in electrical engineering. He is currently a Professor at the Department of Data Science and AI, Auckland University of Technology, Auckland, New Zealand. He has over 35 years of academic experience, having previously held faculty positions at universities in Australia, Hong Kong, and Singapore. He has published over 150 international refereed journals and conference papers in signal processing, intelligent control, computational intelligence, and artificial neural networks. Dr. Lai is a Fellow of the Institution of Engineering and Technology (FIET) and Engineers Australia (FIEAust).

Edmund M.-K. Lai（IEEE终身高级会员）于1982年和1991年分别获得西澳大利亚大学电气工程学士（荣誉学位）与博士学位，现任新西兰奥克兰理工大学数据科学与人工智能系教授。拥有超过35年的学术经历，曾在澳大利亚、中国香港及新加坡的多所大学担任教职。他在信号处理、智能控制、计算智能与人工神经网络领域发表国际期刊及会议论文逾150篇，是英国工程技术学会会士（FIET）与澳大利亚工程师学会会士（FIEAust）。
